![]() more> 'unrequited, pitiful love' and why people called the person who did not 'melt' or return those feelings 'heartless', 'cold' or evil. Personally, I'd never understood why a person stalking and annoying another person garnered so much love and sympathy from others after packaging everything as. ![]() Has quite a few holes, but I gave it a five star rating because I could find complex characterisation peeking through the haze of clichés and tropes (that I do not dislike in the first place). This is the kind of story one would like to read to stimulate their tear ducts, or to feel something, even if that 'something' is actually just heart wrenching pain. They were both imperfect characters who made their own choices and it was no surprise that their relationship was a tragedy. SY treated him so coldly until his last breath, and it was just so sad that he couldn't realise that he deserved better for HIMSELF, and not for SY. He shouldn't have clung onto SY who never took the initiative to even treat him like a decent person. But also, SW deserved so much better - to be loved and cherished. It was only right that there was nothing else he could do but atone for his mistakes. He deserved to miss SW with no hope of ever seeing him again, with no hope of ever making things right between them again. I liked that this was a BE because SY really did deserve to suffer the pain and regret of treating SW in such a way for the rest of his life. Even though SY ignored and disdained him, making it known to him and everyone else that he was just 'that person', SW still loved him. This, in addition to his health complications, caused. And because of an incident that led to a misunderstanding and subsequently the rejection of SW by not only SY but the rest of society for a decade, it was inevitable that SW fell into a major depression. Shi Wen (MC) had fallen in love with Shang Yu (ML) at first sight and even though they were both Alphas and thus 'incompatible' in the traditional sense, SW was still determined as ever to pursue SY. It got to the point where I wish theres a next life for both of them, where they can live happily together- since MC really loved ML and ML really was remorseful of his actions (MC definitely deserves someone better but alas he really stayed loyal to this jerk) <<less ML went through the 5 stages of grief and developed insomnia along with other mental illness. Im not a big fan of people that only realizes what they had after losing cuz irl theres no second chance, like shouldve thought it through beforehand.īut the way author wrote ML guilt and regret made me sad. They (not just ML literally everyone) literally gave him no chances of explaining anything : ( I understand him not telling ML about his problems after being brushed off so many times and hated at. I wished they had communicated clearly but with ML being so stubborn and disdainful of MC, and MC not headstrong enough or brave enough to fully explain the misunderstanding, ig theres like no hope. ![]() more> hated by literally everyone definitely destroyed his self-worth and self-esteem. No matter how much he hated MC, he shouldn't have left a marked omega isolated by himself for 10 years- with very few visitations in between.Īnd MC.I feel really bad for him. ![]() The ML isn't really a scum compared to other male leads in other novels but he still wasn't a good person. I actually felt bad for ML in the end because he ended up grieving and suffering up till his death. I really like it, its nice, short, simple and tragic.
